The GenSensor and ConSensor databases

The databases GenSensor and ConSensor containing information about the sensitivities of prokaryotic genes to external stimuli and about the structures and effectiveness of already existing genosensor constructions, respectively, have been developed. On the basis of these informational resources, the search for novel genes-candidates applicable for designing of novel multifunctional gene-sensor has been performed. Escherichia coli dps gene was selected, and genetic construction designed on the base of this gene was found to be really sensitive to different external stimuli.

The GenSensor database is includes following tables or SRS Data Banks

SENSORGENE - the descriptions of genes.

SENSORBIB - the bibliographies on gene sensors.

SENSORINDUCTOR - the descriptions of sensor inductors.

SENSORPROMOTER - the descriptions of promoters.

SENSORFACTOR - the descriptions of transcription factors.

SENSORSITE - the descriptions of transcription factor binding sites

The ConSensor database is includes following tables or SRS Data Banks:

CONSTRUCTION - the descriptions of sensor construction.

CONSTRUCTIONBIB - the bibliographies on sensor constructions.

CSINDUCTOR - the inductors for sensor construction.
