Integration with other databases and computer systems.Part I. The TRRD database is a module of the GeneNetworks system.Figure 1.
The links contained in different TRRD database tables allow the user to get an additional information on the sites and regulatory regions available in the other modules of GeneNetworks. For example, from the field WW in TRRDSITES (Figure 2), it is possible to activate the software for binding site recognition using the program RGSiteScan Figure 2
Field DR in TRRDSITES provides for the references to ACTIVITY and SAMPLES databases (Figure 2). As a result, it is possible to navigate via hyperlinks to the other programming modules and databases of the GeneNetWorks system from any TRRD database entry. It provides a user with the ability to carry out an integrated analysis of the expression regulation of any gene described in TRRD. Part II. Links to external databasesTRRD database is linked to the relevant databases, such as SwissProt, EMBL/GenBank, TRANSFAC, COMPEL, EpoDB, GeneNet and others (Figure 3). Figure 3Links to referenced databases are represented in the TRRD flat file line types BI, DR,CE, NS, BF, NF, ML (Table 1). Table 1.
